Po’olenalena beach on Maui is a stunning location for portrait sessions, and I recently had the pleasure of photographing Kiran + Novy and their one-year-old son there. As a photographer, it’s always a joy to capture the love and connection of a family, and this session was no exception.
I always like to give some direction for posing to look more natural at the beginning of portrait sessions, but mostly I try to capture candids of the family having fun together + interacting. With little ones, the best plan is to get the more posed pictures done first so they can then play + be free for the rest of the session.
